Mission Statement: The art of not forgetting is to save it

Does this sound familiar? You’ve just created something that works perfectly. Or it’s exactly what you wanted — but you’re at the office. Or at a client’s location, or working on a different laptop. You decide to recreate it with a new idea. Then at home, you’re back on yet another computer. Now you have two versions of what you made. Which version do you update, and which one do you use in the long run — or do you just create it all over again? The Mission Statement is therefore that the art of not forgetting is to save it.

Storing valuable creations not only offers convenience but also a sense of security. By systematically saving your work, you can always fall back on earlier ideas and solutions. This not only saves time but also prevents frustration and duplicate efforts. Plus, you can improve upon your earlier work.

This website prevents this problem. The author stores forgotten or creative creations so they are not lost.

The Mission Statement is therefore that the art of not forgetting is to save it.

With my knowledge and years of experience, I develop solutions that others can use. For example, I’m currently building PowerShell scripts to automate tasks, and I write blog posts that provide answers to recurring questions—such as those about functions in Excel. Think also of performing a minor upgrade of Dynamics 365 Business Central or explaining how to use vertical lookup in an Excel sheet for the local four-day walking event in the village. Therefore, this WordPress blog is primarily focussed on this Mission Statement.

“This way, people don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time, and we all become a little smarter”

“Zo hoeft men niet steeds het wiel opnieuw uit te voeren en worden we allemaal een beetje slimmer”

As an enthusiastic IT professional, I’m dedicated to sharing knowledge and inspiring others to embrace the art of not forgetting. Over time, this blog site has grown from offering content solely in Dutch to also including English-language blog posts. Since the world changes so rapidly, I’ve also added content relevant to both consumers and businesses—ranging from how to prevent emails from ending up in the spam folder in Outlook or Gmail, to backing up a Windows 11 BitLocker key (something Microsoft unfortunately doesn’t warn you isn’t done automatically).

Finally, I’ve added YouTube galleries on this blog featuring channels that I personally find worth following, along with other content that is only relevant to me. These have therefore not been translated into English.
