Starting point Business Central

This blog post I see as a starting point for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). In a rapidly changing business landscape, organizations are looking for flexible, scalable, and integrated business software to efficiently manage their processes. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a powerful answer to this. It is a complete ERP solution (Enterprise Resource Planning) that helps companies manage their finances, supply chain, sales, projects, service, and manufacturing — all within one integrated cloud platform.

Business Central is the modern successor to Microsoft Dynamics NAV and combines the familiar NAV functionality with the power of the Microsoft cloud. This means automatic updates, seamless integration with other Microsoft products such as Office 365, Power BI, Power Platform, and Azure, and access to an ever-growing ecosystem of extensions and apps via AppSource.

For technical consultants, Business Central offers a huge playground. With the programming language AL, custom solutions can be built that perfectly fit the unique needs of an organization. In addition, extensive API capabilities are available for integrations with external systems, and Microsoft offers modern DevOps options for continuous development, testing, and deployment with Docker container solutions and AL-Go for GitHub pipelines.

Because Microsoft Business Central is constantly evolving, it is essential for consultants to stay informed about the latest features, best practices, and technical developments. In this blog, I have therefore created an overview of the most important information sources, blogs, GitHub repositories, LinkedIn groups, and events that you as a technical Business Central consultant should definitely follow. Whether you are just starting or have years of experience — these resources help you stay up-to-date in the fast-evolving world of Business Central.
